~The Green Lotus~
The Lotus is the most sacred plants of Egypt, held to be a symbol of the universe itself. Rising from the muddy waters, it's beautiful flowers symbolise rebirth and enlightenment.
I handcut 3 layers of sterling silver, so that when put together, they form this Lotus design. I cut them by hand using a tiny sawblade(no casting or lasercutting!), and riveted them together using handcrafted sterling silver rivets. Into the layers I set two green peridot and a layer of green tinted paua shell.
This pendant is 5cm tall and 3.2cm wide, and is hung on a 60cm sterling silver chain.
