There’s something incredibly magical about collaborating with other artists. When two creative minds come together, it’s always an exciting journey because you never really know what the outcome will be. Collaboration opens doors to endless possibilities and it’s a process I truly cherish. Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the talented leather worker Kay Buchanan and the results of our collaborations have absolutely blown my mind!
One of our latest projects, the Star Tetrahedron Satchel Bag, is a perfect example of how combining two different mediums (my metalwork and Kay’s leatherwork) can create something truly unique. The sharp, geometric lines of the star tetrahedron in metal contrast beautifully with the softness and flexibility of the leather, creating a harmonious balance between strength and fluidity.
The second piece, the Shipibo Pocket Belt, features intricate designs that blend the beauty of metal and leather, giving it a tactile, textural feel.
The combination of hard metal and soft leather is truly stunning, and I’m thrilled with how these pieces have turned out. I’m amazed at how our different skills complement each other, pushing the boundaries of what we can create together. These projects have been an absolute joy to work on, and I can’t wait to see what our next collaboration will look like!
