Our Story

In her sunlit studio nestled in the hills of Emerald, Jean Burgers brings metal and stone to life, one piece at a time. Every design begins as a sketch, then slowly takes shape under her hands using traditional metalsmithing techniques. With a jeweler’s saw, she handcuts each layer from recycled silver and gold, filing, shaping, and polishing every piece by hand.

Jean’s work is deeply rooted in her love for nature and sustainability. She carefully sources each gemstone from ethical suppliers and uses recycled metals wherever possible, creating jewellery that treads lightly on the earth while carrying meaning and intention.
She has been making jewellery since 2002, when she learnt from master carver Chris Bone in Golden Bay, New Zealand. Her creations are displayed in galleries throughout the world. They are also available to purchase here in her Online Store.
No mass production. No lasers. Just one artist, one pair of hands, and a deep respect for the materials and the people who will wear them. Each piece tells its own quiet story, crafted slowly, deliberately, and entirely by hand.
