Hand-Riveted Connection: Safely secured using hand fabricated rivets. No glue or chemical adhesives are used, only pure metal-on-metal architecture to last a lifetime.
This pendant is based on a hypotrochoid pattern made from rotating Phi spirals. It represents a top down view of the centrifugal divergence of a magnetic field torus.
I handcut this layer of sterling silver to form a Toroid pattern, through which can be seen a layer of NZ paua shell. A beautiful Australian opal cabochon is set in the center, and a sterling silver backing is riveted in with sterling silver rivets.

Even more beautiful as the centerpiece of a finished necklace
The Opal & Paua Toroid Pendant is absolutely beautiful on its own, but once I incorporated it into the necklace I designed for it, I appreciated it even more.
I paired the pendant with Lemurian Aquatine Calcite and Aquamarine beads, along with sterling silver spacers, and I couldn't be happier with how everything came together. The colors in the opal and paua catch the light beautifully, with flashes of blue, green and other colors that seem to change depending on the angle.
As with every piece I've received from Jean, the craftsmanship is outstanding. The pendant has enough detail and visual interest to be the centerpiece of the necklace without overwhelming the stones around it.
I'm extremely happy with the finished piece, and this pendant is exactly what I hoped it would be.
