Design: Inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology, this Scarab pendant honors the scarab beetle as a symbol of creation and transformation. The scarab was closely linked to the sun-god Khepri, who was believed to roll the sun across the sky each day representing the eternal cycle of renewal.
I handcrafted this piece by cutting layers of the design out of sterling silver, copper and brass. Each layer was meticulously cut by hand using a fine jeweler’s saw, then joined together with sterling silver rivets. I added hand-engraved feather details on the wings to give the scarab a sense of movement and life.
