This pendant is one of a series of unique works I created depicting the Sri Yantra.
The Sri Yantra is composed of nine interlocking triangles that radiate outwards from the centre point. This central point is considered the meeting place between the physical world and the source. Of the nine triangle, four point upwards representing Shiva (the masculine principle), while five point downwards representing Shakti (the feminine principle). Because of this, the Sri Yantra is believed to the a strong symbol for the union of the divine masculine and feminine, and a balance of the left and right aspects of the brain. The nine interlocking triangles form forty three small triangles each housing a presiding deity associated with particular aspects of existence.
The Sri Yantra is a powerful tool for meditation, prayer or concentration to help raise ones level of consciousness.
I handcut these two layers of sterling silver by hand using a tiny sawblade and riveted them together with sterling silver rivets. The back layer is oxidised to bring contrast to the design. In the centre of the Sri Yantra I set a beautiful gemstone cabochon. You can choose from the available gemstone options, as pictured.
This pendant is 3cm in diameter and is hung on a 45cm sterling silver chain.
