There’s something special about creating with pounamu. Every stone carries its own history, shaped by water, pressure, time, and place. For this release, I paired hand-cut silver and gold with carefully selected New Zealand pounamu cabochons, each one chosen for its colour, clarity, and natural character.
This small collection is deeply inspired by the landscapes these stones come from. Below is a little insight into the different pounamu types featured in this release, and what makes each one so unique.
Marsden Pounamu — Clear, Vibrant, Luminous
Marsden pounamu is cherished for its beautiful, even green colouring, a clear, vibrant tone that almost seems to glow from within. Sourced near Hokitika, it’s known for its clarity and clean, consistent appearance.
For this collection, I chose pieces that felt fresh and luminous, pairing them with clean metal lines that let the natural green really shine.

Rimu Range Pounamu — Earthy and Full of Character
Rimu Range pounamu has a completely different vibe. Its colouring leans into earthy greens with soft translucency, often showing cloudy or layered internal patterns.
I love this stone because it never feels predictable, each piece has its own mood, its own landscape inside it. These cabochons are deeply tied to their South Westland origin, and each pendant reflects that organic, expressive character.

Nelson Nephrite with Diopside — Pale, Milky, Gentle
Nephrite jade from the Nelson region often contains a high proportion of diopside, giving it that distinctive pale green, almost milky softness.
This material has a calming presence, soothing, and beautifully understated. I worked these stones into designs that highlight their gentle glow and unique mineral makeup.

Dark Blue Nelson Pounamu — Deep and Moody.
This stone is instantly recognisable by its dark blue-green depth. Dark Blue Nelson pounamu has a smooth, uniform appearance and rich, saturated colour that shifts beautifully in the light.

Crafted to Honour the Stone
Each pendant in this release was designed with the individual cabochon at the centre of the process, letting the shape, colour, and natural markings guide the cut of the metal.
Working with pounamu always feels like a collaboration: a balance between the material’s raw beauty and the maker’s hand.
This collection is small, intentional, and deeply connected to Aotearoa’s beautiful landscapes. I’m so excited to finally share it.
